THE ARTS IN PRESCOTT

Mile-high Prescott is a community small in size, but is big on arts & culture. Our dedication to the arts is seen year after year, through the many museums & galleries to local theater groups. Residents and visitors can experience arts and culture through the numerous signature events that Prescott hosts. Deep historical and cultural roots-including ranching, mining, Old West cowboys and Native American tribal life-continually make there way into the town's museums and art works, as well as special annual events. Local art advocates work hard to keep arts & culture alive in Prescott.

PAAHC will, as it’s been doing for many years now, continue to administer Grants to non-profit arts organizations in town with funds generously appropriated by City Council from the Bed Tax revenue.

As part of the goal to make PAAHC more visible is a new and more user friendly website, re-designed by PAAHC Board Member, Terri New.  Please let us know how we can make the website more effective for you.

PAAHC membership has waned greatly in the past few years, another issue to be rectified.  Arts organizations and individual artists can be members of PAAHC.  Why become a PAAHC member?  If for no other reason, it gives artists and organizations a more effective voice in City government.

PAAHC has a small number of members because of its low visibility and relative inactivity, but has had low visibility and has been relatively inactive because of low membership.  We encourage you or your organization to become a member of PAAHC, get involved and make Art more present and better heard in Prescott.

Prescott is known for its wondrous outdoor activities, Whiskey Row and the “World’s Oldest Rodeo” (all amazing and treasured).  Prescott should also be known for being a haven to and of ART.  But in order to make that a reality, all artists and arts organizations need to work together and hopefully, PAAHC can be the conduit for that to happen.  Join PAAHC today and let’s make Prescott one of the most desired Arts destinations in Arizona!
